lyrics

Walking down Rose Avenue
Seven blocks from Venice Beach
The ocean waves come into view
The sand is hot beneath my feet
Ah, ah

27 hours ago on a plane from St. Tropez
Made a stop in Montreal
Picked her up along the way.
Ah, ah

And I can hear the sound of love
Yeah, I can hear the sound of love

Driving in the middle lane
Looking for the 405
Missed the exit once again
Lucky just to be alive
Ah, ah

And I can hear the sound of love
Yeah, I can hear the sound of love

I thought that we would last forever
But nothing’s ever meant to last
Now I’m sitting on my suitcase
And waiting for the time to pass

Yeah, I can hear the sound of love

Love. Love.
I can hear the sound of, I can hear the sound of
I can hear the sound of, I can hear the sound of
I can hear the sound of, I can hear the sound of
I can

Notes on song:
Written on a Saturday night on my piano at home and recorded two days later. I had a lot of enjoyable times in the 2010’s on Rose Avenue in Venice, California. I didn’t mean to write about it but that first line just came out when the main melody first appeared.
